In 1960, Shuqualak, Mississippi native James “Jimmy” Prince opened his own petroleum marketing business in Philadelphia, MS – Prince Oil Company. Throughout the tumultuous decades of the 60’s and 70’s, there were many bumps in the road, but Jimmy never gave up and his work ethic paid off. Jimmy stood by the premise that the customer is always right, building a legacy that has stood the test of time.
He later handed the reins of the company to his three youngest children who expanded the company – adding convenience stores and even casual dining to its repertoire. Like their father, they seek to please the customer, make a difference in the community, and be known as a company of integrity.
